April showers have sprung forth May flowers, making for an enchanting time of year to pick up some eats and have a picnic with mom! Whether you choose take-out and your own favourite location or one of our local patios, mom will be happy to have the gift of time with you! Contact Harrison Corner Café and ask about their Mother’s Day Picnic Specials (preorder by May 6), Wild Forager Catering for their Mother’s Day dinners (pre-order by May 7), or visit Farmhouse Natural Cheeses and create a DIY charcuterie board. There are countless locations in the Harrison River Valley ideal for a picnic, but some of our favourite areas are: Greenpoint Day Use Area, Kilby Beach, Harrison Beach, and Pioneer Park in Agassiz (check out all the cherry blossoms)!

Approaching Mother’s Day, Kilby Historic Site will be open Thursday to Monday (May 6 to May 10); and are welcoming locals to come and visit their picturesque gardens, charming giftshop and historic buildings. Take-out will be available and the gorgeous grounds of the site offers many spots to spread out a picnic blanket, or sit at a table and enjoy a picnic.
