Lights and Bites in the Harrison River Valley

Winter evenings spent basking in the glow of holiday lights will warm your heart and put you in a festive mood, but after sightseeing in the chilly winter air, you’ll want to warm up and relax with some hearty food! It’s the perfect time of year for a fun date night that includes taking in holiday lights and enjoying a festive feast! Here are some places to take in lights – and bites – in the Harrison River Valley!

FIRST – THE LIGHTS!

Every winter, the Harrison lakefront is transformed into a wondrous and magical spot to take your loved ones on an enchanting holiday walk during our Lights by the Lake Display! Dazzling light displays include the legendary Sasquatch and our local wildlife portrayed in custom built displays, old fashioned lamps and trees aglow with thousands of shimmering, colourful lights. This display lights up 2 km of the waterfront on Harrison’s promenade and runs until January 8th, 2024.

Other must-see light displays:
CP Holiday Train: Brilliantly lit with a kaleidoscope of colours, the holiday train pulls into Agassiz on Sunday, December 17 at 5:30pm, West of Hwy 9 across from the Agra Centre on Pioneer Avenue. A concert from 5:45-6:15pm with performers Tyler Shaw and Kiesza will entertain and delight!
Winter Night Lights: Pioneer Park in Agassiz dazzles with luminosity; stretching across the park from the Agassiz-Harrison Museum to the Agassiz Harrison Observer Newspaper Office, located directly across from the downtown shopping core! Stroll amongst the large sparkling trees, or take that Insta-worthy shot in the Gazebo, adorned in shimmering lights. Lights are on until December 31.
Rowena’s Inn: If you’re eagle watching at the Sandpiper’s Eagle Viewing Gazebo, make sure to stroll the beautiful grounds to see the resort aglow with lights! Lights are on throughout December.
