Accessible Tourism

The Harrison River Valley offers a wide range of accessible activities throughout our region. Each of our communities and our partners are dedicated to offering inclusive experiences.

In Harrison Hot Springs, our Mobi-Mats are placed in two locations on the Harrison beach allowing wheelchairs and strollers to access our waterfront. Our promenade has 5 wheelchair accessible entry points. The public washroom is also wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair accessible viewing platform on the roof. Shoreline Tours and BC Sportfishing Group offer guided tours and sportfishing opportunities including an accessible boat and a variety of adaptive reels – including a sip and puff reel!

Agassiz has many accessible restaurants including the Broken Whisk. After dinner, you can either explore some wheelchair accessible trails, like the Cheam Wetlands accessible viewing platform, or check out the races at the Agassiz Speedway– which offers wheelchair accessible seating.

Adaptive Airtime Paragliding is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to breaking down barriers and making the experience of free flight accessible to everyone. Their mission is to provide the experience of paragliding to those facing adversity, welcoming people with spinal cord and brain injuries, as well as all forms of mobility limitations and special needs. From youngsters to the elderly, they will take anyone soaring who dreams of flying.
