SPRING EVENTS IN THE HARRISON RIVER VALLEY

Events are back in full swing, seasonal shops are reopening, and we’re abloom with ideas for celebrating Easter and the return of this vibrant season! From egg hunts to Easter brunch, we’re celebrating all things spring and would love for you to join us! Check out these upcoming events and activities:

EASTER BRUNCH AT THE RIVER’S EDGE CLUBHOUSE, SANDPIPER RESORT

Sunday, April 17, 8 am – 2pm

WHITE RABBIT EGG HUNT, KILBY HISTORIC SITE

Saturday April 16 & Sunday April 17 
Go down the rabbit hole for an Alice-in-Wonderland themed Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Pre-order a Mad Hatter Lunchbox for only $15. Or book a spot for a traditional Easter dinner featuring savoury roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, seasonal vegetables, dessert, and beverage for $30. EASTER SCAVENGER HUNT, AGASSIZ-HARRISON MUSEUM

Saturday April 16
Pre-register for this fun-filled Easter Scavenger Hunt by calling the museum at 604-796-3545. Also check out these other spring events at the museum: 
April 1 – May 18: Remember Mom Heart Tree (interactive exhibit): write mom’s name on a heart and add it to the tree. 
April 13: Season of the Wild Speaker Series: Salmon. 
April 20 – May 17: The Monday Painters Art Exhibition, 10am – 4pm Wed. to Sat.
April 27: Season of the Wild Speaker Series: Bald Eagle. 

MOO LET THE COWS OUT, CREEKSIDE CHEESE AND CREAMERY

Saturday, April 16
This frolicking, fun event takes place at Creekside Cheese and Creamery. The first day letting the cows into the pasture after a long winter means joyful cows galloping into the springy green sod and enjoying mouthfuls of tender spring grass. It’s a delightful event to witness and photograph! This is a free event but parking is limited, so pre-registration will be required.

FARMYARD EXPLORERS, KILBY HISTORIC SITE

May 12 to June 16, Thursday Mornings 9:30-10:30 am
Designed for children 2-5 years old, accompanied by an adult. Spark your child’s imagination as they explore Kilby Farm. Each session includes a story, simple craft, outdoor activity, and healthy snack led by an experienced educator. Pre-registration required, $12/adult and $2/child. Email [email protected] to register. Six sessions include: 1. Crazy About Chicks (May 12), 2. Time to Plant (May 19), 3. Bread and Butter (May 26), 4. Eye Spy – a Farmyard Friends’ Activity (June 2). 5. Milk and Cookies (June 9), and 6. Things That Make Noise on a Farm (June 16). 

MORE SPRING THINGS:

Just a half hour drive away, the Chilliwack Tulip Festival runs from April 11 – May 1. Make a getaway of it by booking a room in one of our many accommodations, then spending time among 20 glorious acres of fresh blooms!

Jamie’s Quadricycle Rentals opens for the season on the Easter Long Weekend (April 16), weather permitting. For the most up-to-date information on the opening date and rental rates, visit their Facebook page.

New this year, Harrison Eco Tours will be offering e-bike rentals. Watch their Instagram page for date announcement.
