Event Details

Spend an exciting evening with Kilby’s bats! Bring a chair and prepare to be amazed as mothers and their pups emerge at dusk to feed on mosquitoes. Families are welcome. Leashed pets welcome.

Doors open at 8PM. Tickets at the door. $5/person or $20/group (up to 6 people). Cancelled if raining. Please check our website for updates.

Our Little Brown Myotis colony is alive and doing well with a count of over 3000 bats last year! Mothers from this endangered species return year after year to raise their young in the attics of the Kilby Historic Site.

New this year: Visit the upstairs in the museum to hear delightful squeals and shuffling as the bats prepare to fly!

We partner with BC Bats to monitor the health of the maternity colony onsite. To learn more about bat conservation, and the work that BC Bats does, check out their website!

Located near the junction of the Harrison and Fraser Rivers, the Kilby Historic Site stands as the only reminder of the once thriving community of Harrison Mills, British Columbia, Canada. Step back in time and enjoy a leisurely tour of the Kilby Historic Site with its magnificent 1906 General Store Museum. Visitors will view a fascinating gallery of product packaging dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. Don’t miss the intriguing artifacts in the heritage Post Office and Manchester House Hotel; both were an integral part of the Harrison Mills community at the turn of the twentieth century.
