JOURNEY INTO THE LAND OF THE GIANTS

Amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Harrison River Valley lies a captivating showcase dedicated to the lore and legends of Sasq’ets, more commonly known as Sasquatch. If you’ve ever been intrigued by this mysterious and elusive creature, this is the place where curiosity meets reality.

Step inside and embark on a journey through time and legend as you explore the new Sasquatch Museum, located inside the Tourism Harrison River Valley Visitor Information Centre. At three times the size of the original location, the Sasquatch Museum features the ‘Land of the Giants’ exhibit, where the creatures of the Harrison River Valley come to life.

The word Sasquatch is thought to be a mispronunciation of the Sts’ailes word ‘Sasq’ets’, meaning ‘hairy man’. The Sts’ailes believe the Sasquatch is a spiritual being that can vanish into the spirit realm at will, which explains why the elusive being is so difficult to locate. Experience the re-created Sts’ailes longhouse, try the new interactive kiosk and view foot castings and artifacts, along with carvings, storyboards and interpretive panels proving the existence of this enigmatic creature, leaving you to question what you thought you knew.
